Travel Diary: BottleRock Napa Festival

Yes, I'm still recovering

from the weekend

and it's Wednesday! It's safe to say I'm definitely more of a

BottleRock Napa Festival

kind of person than a

Coachella person

; maybe I'm getting old or I just really like wine. Well, I guess 21 yr. olds don't really love wine, so it's both. Either way, festivals are an EXPERIENCE that most of the time leave you wanting a relaxing vacation. That being said, they're also super fun. I had the best time with the

Azalea

team (or

#azcrew

as we dubbed it) drinking ALL the wines and listening to Florence and the Machine get a little crazy. Also, you have to see the picnic set up we had... one word: ADORBS! Scroll down for snaps and some learnings for next year:

Azalea and

Hersche

l hosted us at cutesy little barn house in Petaluma which was legit "on the otherside" - although it appears to be pretty close to Napa and the festival, there's only one lane highways going in and out which means... you guessed it... lots of traffic. Next year, I would book a place in Napa BEFORE tickets go on sale for the festival. It's key to be close or else be very prepared for some long rides. We made the best of it with some amazing carpool karaoke and tons of road trip snacks. Btw, you can get this

door mat here

. So cutesy, right?

What to pack?

Well it's actually SUPER hot and doesn't get too cold at night, so shorts/dresses and breathable light layer are perfect. You know, typical festival gear. One thing you can't forget is a backpack - I brought

this Herschel packable

 - and it was a lifesaver.

The big difference between Coachella + BottleRock is the alcohol. Wine is the key focus at BottleRock and you can walk around freely with it as long as you have a special wristband on.  No beer tents or silly restrictions like Coachella. Just give me my wine and let me be, thanks! Needless to say there was A LOT of wine and silly pictures.

One of the best parts of the weekend aside from Stevie Wonder KILLING it on Friday night, was the rosé picnic brunch we had on Saturday at the house. Literally the cutest outdoor set-up from

Society6

 paired with

Summerwater from WINC

and cheese + charcuterie. Possibly a little piece of heaven? I think yes!
