Travel Diary: Miami (Bachelorette Edition)

In the words of Will Smith "Welcome to Miami!" Is it crazy that I'm still recovering from last weekend's bachelorette party? Apparently I need to do more pre-party conditioning. Anywho, last time I went to Miami it was very low key and I couldn't wait to go back to get the full party experience. Danielle's bachelorette was definitely that! While I won't give you all the juicy deets (what happens in Miami goes on snapchat stays in Miami), there are a handful of great restos and clubs that you must check out if you're planning any sort of girls' trip:

Mami South Beach, Loews Hotel, Bachelorette Party

My favorite part of South Beach is the view; in LA we don't have colorful day beds and tents set up along the ocean. This element definitely makes for some great pics! We stayed at the Loews Hotel which had a fab pool and cabanas and was perfectly located to all our night life activities. I'd definitely suggest it for large parties as they were very accommodating.

{the food}

So. much. goodness! Like any vacay this one was definitely indulgent. By far my favorite place we ate was  Sugar Cane: it's a family style type of place with tapas, robata, and seafood plates.  The atmosphere is magical (try to sit outside) and the drinks are out of this world. My favorites: duck & waffle, bacon wrapped dates, and the brussel sprouts.

If you're super into sushi, definitely check out Zuma which is another seafood-robata spot that over looks the Biscayne Bay. My tum tum wasn't feeling so well when we went there but the other girls definitely loved it!

Things to remember: everywhere in Miami adds automatic gratuity. Adult beverages are upwards of $20 bucks a pop which was whoah! Mosquitos love out-of-towners, so remember that when dining outside. (I'm still recovering!)

{day life}

South Beach day life is very much like Vegas just without gambling and the addition of a beach! Sounds silly but if you've experienced both places you definitely know what I mean.  AKA raging EDM pool parties, bottle service, door men... let's just say if you're with a big group of girls you can pretty much get in anywhere. We decided to alternate days by the beach/pool with the day clubs -definitely smart because 3 days of day drink boozing and crazy nights out is pretty much ridiculous.

For the beach, invest in a day bed or chairs with umbrellas. The price isn't too bad and you'll be glad you have the umbrella come 2pm. We brought a lot of snacks to the beach but there's also tons of food and beverage options out on the sand! Btw, the club promoters and VIP hosts tend to walk along the beach looking for hot groups of girls (it's true!) which is a good way to get in at the night clubs or day clubs.

For the day clubs, Hyde Beach at the SLS was THE spot. The music and overall vibe was really great and the pool itself is a decent size. Be prepared to drink and dance your butt off!

{night life}

The MOH had the great idea of wearing neon one night while Danielle wore white - didn't it turn out cute? When it comes to nightlife, Miami has it's fair share of clubs. Let's just leave it at this:

LIV Night Club - don't waste your time
SET Night Club - fantastic mix of hip-hop, EDM, and pop music + great drinks and crowd
Hyde @ The SLS - great 90s and early 2000's jams + a more relaxed vibe

If you're headed to Miami definitely tweet at me (@pursuitofshoes) with any questions!! Btw check out my SF, New Orleans, and Dallas  travel diaries for fun places to eat and shop.
