Summer Must-Have: a Denim Skirt

how to wear a denim skirt, denim skirt outfit ideas, raye heels

Do you ever think about how much time you spend looking at screens? Whether it's your phone, computer, or TV... it's a heck of a lot of time. For those of us that work in social media and digital marketing it's the avg. person's screen time multiplied by 20; ungodly amounts of hours every day of the week. I've been feeling over screened lately - the other day Andy literally counted only SECONDS between when I put my phone down and picked it back up again, so I decided to do a V necessary digital detox this weekend. Enter: Palm Springs! I put my phone away for HOURS at a time and holy sh*t did it feel good. I also brought my laptop and didn't even pull it out once... #LIVING. All the deets on our girls' weekend will be coming in the next few weeks (can't wait!) but I just wanted to share a note about pursuing the digital detox in case any of you need a little reminder that it's okay to turn OFF every once in awhile. Being on 24/7 is not doing anyone any favors! PS: read more about how I turn OFF in this relationship post - specifically as it relates to balancing work and your significant other.

K, now let's talk fashion, specifically your (our) summer uniform. This is my fall uniform so it's no surprise that this season looks a little something like this:

Are you getting flashbacks from the Abercrombie denim skirts of our high school years? I know, I know. This time around they're not nearly as tiny (think high-waisted) and I like to opt for an a-line cut that accentuates the waist and is overall just much more comfortable. This skirt from GRLFRND denim has taken the place of my jeans on warm weekend days. (see how it I wore it another way in this post) The fit it TTS!

I get tons of Qs about this button-down because, let's be real, it's phenom! Sadly I bought it a few years ago at Zara and haven't found anything that lives up to its perfectness. It's always a struggle when I haven't done laundry for a bit and it's buried deep inside the laundry basket - hah! Don't worry, I'll keep pursuing because there's got to be another great one out there!
