Hotel Diary: The Grand Pigalle, Paris

Although it’s sometimes a pain to pack-up every few days, if time permits I enjoy staying in multiple hotels in one city just to get a different vibe and change of scenery. For the first part of our trip we stayed in the heart of Paris and then headed a bit north to The Grand Pigalle which is such an impressively thought out hotel! If you're wondering where to stay on your next trip to Paris, this is it.

Where to stay in Paris? View from Grand Pigalle, Paris

Location

The Grande Pigalle Hotel is located in the 9th district right below Montmarte in a very progressive area; much more lively and youthful than our first hotel. The streets are flanked with bars, restaurants, and more sex shops than you’ve ever imagined (v close to the Moulin Rouge)... it's just FUN. We felt very much like locals in this part of the city. We were able to explore a whole new area of the city that we hadn't walked through during our previous stay. More to come in my Paris Diary about that!

Vibes

I really loved the branding of this hotel (it’s reminiscent of the Pendry in San Diego) - a very contemporary and “cool” feel with wood and brass details everywhere but with the magic of Paris! This is definitely a spot I would refer my friends to for future Paris visits. Like most European spots, breakfast comes with your stay which we enjoyed in the bar/dining every morning. Eggs are made to order which is always a perk (not the biggest fan of buffet eggs #justsaying). All the employees look they just walked out of a Madewell or J. Crew ad - I'm telling you, the attention to detail was impeccable.

Rooms

The rooms are standard size with spacious bathrooms and gorgeous DOUBLE DOORS that open to stunning views of the city. We had a corner room with balconies on two sides - there's nothing like a Paris balcony! Every morning we opened the windows and just laid in bed staring at the gorgeous view. Each room also comes with custom made cocktails in the mini bar  - again with the details, you guys.

2. Ornate Details in the bathroom: tile, sink, and double windows

3. Neighborhood feel was a nice change of pace from the touristy area we were in previously!

Ashley
