Señorita, Ma Chérie...

Getting a little bit personal today! A few weeks ago I heard a song that literally transported me back to 2012. Said song may have been from Justin Bieber - refrain from giggling - but we'll get to that in a bit.

Isn't it crazy how music makes you instantly feel nostalgic? The memories and associations created with songs are so powerful! I mean, Des'ree 'You gotta Be' = 5th grade. I'm pretty sure most of my friends can agree that the second they hear Kanye's 'Gold Digger' they are brought back to some ridiculously awesome college party. Ahhh and 'Dreaming of You' by Selena = high school BF. Don't even talk to me when an N'SYNC song comes on, I'm busy being a 14 yr. old super-fan again.

Most recently, music has played a huge roll in my relationship. Let's just say that if Spotify was a dating site, the boy and I would be spokespeople for their success stories. That's where the Biebs comes in...
The boy and I had an office romance. How does one romance in the office? Gchat and Spotify. #duh Back in the day we used to share songs - he has great taste in music- and most of the time he would just laugh at my love for B. Spears & JT. During the time, Justin Bieber's acoustic album had just come out and we joked that we liked a song or two. Secretly, I loved the JB album and started listening to it on my way home from work, eventually to and from the boy's place. Long story short, JB's album became my "honeymoon stage" soundtrack.  Now every time I hear a song from the album, especially 'Take You,' I instantly get butterflies and this overwhelming feeling of driving down Wilshire Blvd. to his old apt. Music, it really does bring people together! So that's my mushy love story and why I heart Spotify so much. Of course, I have a cheesy playlist that I've added to over the past 1.5 years. I promise they aren't all love songs:
