Holiday Decor: Splurge vs. Save

I can’t even believe I’m writing “‘Tis the Season!” - what a year it’s been. It seems like the general consensus is DECORATE FOR CHRISTMAS ASAP because we need every little thing that brings us joy. Speaking of things that bring joy - this will be our first Christmas in our home and Luna’s first Christmas so I’m really looking forward to it. As I started to peruse the interwebs to figure out our Holiday vibe, I came across a lot of great looks for less out there. Target FTW - ammiright? Keep scrolling for deets.

I was chatting with my gf about Christmas decor - she also has a new baby and home - we were discussing how things change with kids: do you go for aesthetics or sentimental things? And we agreed that it starts as aesthetics when they are young, moves to sentimental as they get a few years old, then eventually just becomes whatever the kid wants when they start having opinions - hah. I told her that’s when I get a second tree just for me!

In the meantime, mama is going all out this year since Luna isn’t crawling yet. I ended up getting two of these pampas grass wreaths (second image) for the doors flanking our fireplace. And even though I told myself I would NEVER have a faux Christmas tree, I bought this one from Home Depot after seeing it in person. But Ash, what about the evergreen scent? I’m planning to do a beautiful real garland on our fireplace - pinning all the inspo here. Eek so excited!!
